BAKU, January 30. /TASS/. Azerbaijan will never allow its territory or airspace to be used to carry out strikes against Iran, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

"On January 29, Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with Abbas Araghchi. It was particularly emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan will never allow any country to use its airspace or territory to conduct military operations against Iran or any other country," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Bayramov emphasized that Baku’s position is principled and unwavering. He said Azerbaijan consistently opposes actions and rhetoric that could destabilize Iran or the surrounding region.

"During the phone call, the sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest," the ministry added.
