Moldova to discuss gas supplies to Transnistria with Gazprom — PM

Chisinau is interested to continue procuring electric power generated from Russian gas in Transnistria

CHISINAU, November 21. /TASS/. Energy Minister of Moldova Victor Parlicov will discuss Russian gas supplies to unrecognized Transnistria via alternative routes in case its transit via the territory of Ukraine is halted, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said in an interview with the Radio Moldova.

"There are alternative routes, whereby gas may reach the left bank of the Dniester [Transnistria - TASS], that is, to Moldova. This is the issue Minister Parlicov should discuss with representatives of Gazprom," the prime minister said.

Chisinau is interested to continue procuring electric power generated from Russian gas in Transnistria. "It is important for us that natural gas flows to Transnistria and we can continue buying electric power at such price," the prime minister said.
