Avtovaz plans exporting about 20,000 cars by year-end

Main export destinations are non-CIS countries, Belarus in the first instance, Maxim Sokolov noted

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Avtovaz plans to export about 20,000 Lada cars in 2024, President of the Russian automaker Maxim Sokolov told reporters on the sidelines of the Transport of Russia forum.

"We are satisfied with the export recovery rate. Certainly, its volume has not yet reached record high times of the Soviet Union. Nevertheless, considering that exports dropped to almost zero as of the end of 2022-2023 - just several thousand cars were actually supplied - now, despite mounting sanction pressure, we are building up volumes and plan to reach the mark of about 20,000 cars as of 2024 year-end," Sokolov said.

"Speaking about export forecasts for 2025, we plan to increase volumes by 50% at the least," the chief executive added.

Main export destinations are non-CIS countries, Belarus in the first instance, Sokolov noted. Exports to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are also evolving gradually, the chief executive added.
