GENEVA, November 13. /TASS/. The amount of Russian assets frozen in Switzerland has not changed over the past three months, said a spokeswoman for the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
"The amount has not changed since August 2024," Francoise Tschanz, the spokeswoman, told TASS.
"As of 13 August 2024, CHF 7.1 billion ($8 bln) in financial assets, 17 properties, as well as luxury vehicles, works of art, furniture and instruments belonging to sanctioned natural persons, companies and organizations are frozen in Switzerland," she said. "The total amount of the Russian central bank’s assets immobilized in Switzerland is CHF 7.24 billion."
Asked about the amount of income from the assets, Tschanz replied, "No income or windfall profits are being generated in Switzerland in connection with the immobilized Russian central bank funds, because the assets held by Swiss financial institutions are not held in central securities depositories, but are deposited with commercial banks.".
