BEIJING, November 24. /TASS/. China intends to make car models that meet the demand of the Russian market, China’s ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told a forum.
"China is ready <…> to constantly develop models that meet the demand of the Russian market, ensure first-rate quality, provide high-quality services, as well as facilitate the integration of production and supply chains in the two countries’ automobile sector," the diplomat was quoted as saying by the Xinhua news agency.
Beijing expects Chinese car producers to uphold the image of their brands, he added.
He also expressed hope that the Russian side would provide support to China’s auto manufacturers and make it easier for Chinese firms to operate on the Russian market.
According to figures provided by the General Administration of Customs of China, the country exported $9.4 bln worth of passenger cars to Russia from January to October. Russia is the largest buyer of Chinese cars, followed by Belgium ($5.2 bln from January-to October), and the UK ($4.8 bln).
