re:Store chain owner tries luck with new metal business

The company will supply equipment produced in friendly countries meant for small and mid-sized machine manufacturing companies

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The owner of the chain selling Apple goods and other electronics, re:Store - Inventive Retail Group, has created a company to sell metal-working machines from China as such European companies are leaving Russia, a source in Inventive Retail Group’s press service told TASS.

"Due to a wide import substitution demand and the exit of the main metal-working machinery suppliers from the market, we saw a business opportunity and we are creating a company that will bridge this gap in full accordance with Russian and international law," the company said.

The startup called Machindex will not be part of Inventive’s management structure. The company will supply equipment produced in friendly countries (at the first stage - from China) meant for small and mid-sized machine manufacturing companies, the press service added.

Earlier, Kommersant business daily said that the operator of re:Store outlets had opened a store selling turning and milling machines called Machindex.
