MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. Russians more often sold the euro than purchased in February 2023, the Russian Standard Bank said in its research seen by TASS.
"While the cash dollars were purchased and sold with actually the same interest, Russians sold the cash euro notably more frequently than purchased. According to statistics of the Bank, total offline euro sales in February turned out to be 24% above offline purchases," the research reads. "The average amount of a single cash euro sales transaction totaled 713 euro in February, while it turned out to be much higher for purchases - 902 euro," the Bank said in the research.
Online euro sales were also more frequent against purchases. The average cashless purchase amount stood at 10,740 euro in February, while the figure for sales was 3,978 euro.
The interest of Russians in the dollar was notably much higher. The number of currency exchange transactions with the dollar in February was twice higher than for the euro, with the average purchase amount in offices of the Bank amounting to 1,000 dollars, while the selling amount was 653 dollars, experts of the Bank said.
