MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The number of data leaks in Russia may rise by 20% in 2023 compared with 2022, Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence’s analyst Igor Fits told reporters on Monday.
"Data leakage may affect any company. We expect their number to rise by 20% in 2023," he said, adding that hackers continue focusing on the retail sector, which historically stores enormous information volume.
According to a report by Kaspersky Lab ‘On major data leaks in Russia’ obtained by TASS, 168 cases of publication of notable data bases of Russian companies were registered in 2022, with a total of over 2 bln records published. Delivery (34%) and retail (14%) were the leading sectors in terms of leaked information.
"Those are almost 300 mln user data, of which 16%, or around 48 lines, had passwords," according to the report.
