Russia’s meat production rises by 3.7% in January-September

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the highest rates were reported in pig breeding, where the volume increased by 6.2% to 4.15 mln metric tonnes

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Meat production in Russia in January-September 2022 increased by 3.7% year-on-year, while milk production added 1.2%, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Wednesday.

"Over the nine months of this year, the livestock sector has maintained a positive trend in both meat and dairy areas. Thus, compared to the same period last year, the production of livestock and poultry in all categories of farms increased by 3.7% to 11.23 mln metric tonnes in live weight, milk - by 1.2%, to 25.3 mln metric tonnes," the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the highest rates were reported in pig breeding, where the volume increased by 6.2% to 4.15 mln metric tonnes. The figure for poultry added 4.7%, reaching 5.1 mln metric tonnes.
