Trump says US can destroy Iran's electric power network in one hour

"It'll be almost impossible for them to rebuild their country," the US president said

WASHINGTON, March 12. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump warned Iran that the United States can destroy its electric power system in one hour if the situation escalates.

"We can hit sections of Tehran and other places. If you do it, it'll be almost impossible for them to rebuild their country. And we don't want that," he told reporters.

According to the US leader, the United States can hit Iran’s electricity grid. "We could take apart their electric capacity within one hour, and it would take them 25 years to rebuild it," he said.

The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also hit. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian leaders were killed in the joint US-Israeli attack.
