Five die in fire at fireworks production site in Yaroslavl Region

The accident occurred in the village of Kubrinsk when two buildings in the territory of a fireworks production facility caught fire

YAROSLAVL, September 28. /TASS/. Five people died and one more was injured in a fire at a fireworks enterprise near Pereslavl-Zalessky in the Yaroslavl Region, the press service of the Russian emergencies ministry’s regional department said.

"Rescuers recovered the bodies of five people while clearing the debris. A woman was taken to a hospital with injuries," it said.

The accident occurred in the village of Kubrinsk when two buildings in the territory of a fireworks production facility caught fire. The firefighting effort involved more than 100 rescuers and 40 firefighting vehicles.

A criminal case was opened on charges of violating safety rules at hazardous production facilities (part 3, article 217 of the Russian Criminal Code).
