Envoy to Russia lays out terms under which Iran would return to negotiating table

"We believe that this time we must resist to the very end, we must hold on, because this is a fateful war for the whole world," Kazem Jalali stated

MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Tehran is willing to negotiate, but only under certain conditions, including the lifting of sanctions and compensation for damage, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said at a press conference marking International Al-Quds Day.

"Of course, we never withdrew from negotiations," the diplomat said. At the same time, he recalled that "the Americans upended the negotiations twice, delivering strikes during the talks on both occasions."

"This time, we will not repeat the same mistake. If they want talks, they will have to agree to our terms," the head of the diplomatic mission stressed. He said that first "the war has to end and never happen a third time." "All sanctions against Iran need to be lifted. And Iran must be compensated for all the damage it has suffered," Jalali said, listing the conditions.

He pointed out that "there are some friendly countries that are talking about a ceasefire." "Iran never refuses to negotiate. But these negotiations must produce results that are conducive to peace in the region," the ambassador said.

"We believe that this time we must resist to the very end, we must hold on, because this is a fateful war for the whole world," Jalali stated.
