AK-12 assault rifle enables Russian fighters to demonstrate sniper’s accuracy — Rostec

The assault rifle also has a well-balanced weight, a convenient trigger and good ergonomics, which makes it possible to qualitatively control all the moments of force during a shot and the recoil

MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. The Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifle enables Russian fighters to demonstrate the sniper’s accuracy of fire in the special military operation in Ukraine, the state tech corporation Rostec said on Wednesday.

"The AK-12 demonstrates a high accuracy of fire: a bullet deviates by no more than 5-6 cm from the flight trajectory at a distance of 100 meters. This corresponds to the level of the most accurate assault rifles in the world. The assault rifle also has a well-balanced weight, a convenient trigger and good ergonomics, which makes it possible to qualitatively control all the moments of force during a shot and the recoil. With this weapon, a shooter can realize his high skills and we can see this in a video: a Russian fighter demonstrates truly outstanding marksmanship," Rostec said in a statement.

The state tech corporation thus commented on a video by military reporter Yevgeny Poddubny, which shows a Russian fighter shooting down several enemy quadcopters over the engagement line by AK-12 assault rifle fire.

A night vision device also played an important role in the demonstrated combat episode. The AK-12 assault rifle allows for mounting any sights and additional accessories with the help of Picatinny rails. In addition, the assault rifle’s convenience is achieved with an adjustable buttstock, a two-side fire selector and a universal belt.
