Officials say there’s no Ukrainian saboteurs in Aleshky but city is heavily shelled

It was stated that Aleshky remains under Russian control and the reports that Ukrainian forces took the city are inaccurate

GENICHESK, November 15. /TASS/. Georgy Zhuravko, head of the administration at Aleshky, has said there are no Ukrainian saboteurs in the city that sits on the eastern bank of the Dnieper, but it’s heavily shelled.

"We haven’t seen saboteur groups but there’s a lot of artillery shelling. Many houses and infrastructure facilities have been ruined. Shelling is frequent, both during the day and the night. No casualties, thanks God," he said.

Zhuravko said Aleshky remains under Russian control and the reports that Ukrainian forces took the city are inaccurate.

"Ukrainian forces haven’t entered Aleshky. Aleshky remains part of Russia. We live by Russian law, and everything is as it should be. Aleshky is getting on with its life," he said.

On November 9, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu ordered a pullback of Russian forces from the western bank of the Dnieper, where Kherson is located, agreeing to a proposal by Sergey Surovikin, commander of the integrated group of forces in the special military operation zone.

Surovikin stressed that Russian forces had been successfully repelling Ukrainian attacks, and the decision to pull back was due to the risk that the group could be isolated if the area below the Kakhovskaya HPP dam is flooded. According to the commander, all civilians who agreed to evacuate, or more than 115,000 people, had been relocated to the eastern bank.
