Russia has full strategic initiative in Donbass – diplomat

According to Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Russia also controls the situation in Severodonetsk

UNITED NATIONS, June 10. /TASS/. Russia has full strategic initiative in Donbass and controls the situation in the city of Severodonetsk, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky told BBC in an interview.

"I know that we have a total strategic initiative in in Donbass," Polyansky said.

"He [Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky] says a lot of things and I think you should divide them by three or by four. That's quite clear. As far as I understand the situation in Severodonetsk is totally under our control and only the industrial parts of the city is still being controlled partially by Ukrainian forces. But I think that military specialists know better than myself," the Russian diplomat continued.

The diplomat reiterated that the Russian forces do not strike civilian targets.
