The deputy head added that the final decision on who will conduct the monitoring has not been made yet

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Saudi Arabia was considered at the Riyadh negotiations as the country that would monitor the ban on strikes against energy infrastructure in Ukraine, deputy head of Zelensky’s office Igor Zhovkva said on the Rada TV channel.

"The technical work (on monitoring - TASS) may be conducted by third countries. The name mentioned was Saudi Arabia, where the talks were carried out. The US proposed that to Saudi Arabia," he said.

The deputy head added that the final decision on who will conduct the monitoring has not been made yet.

On March 25, the Kremlin issued a statement on the results of expert discussions with Washington. According to it, Russia and the United States agreed to continue efforts toward achieving a lasting and sustainable peace. Furthermore, the parties agreed to guarantee the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative, including ensuring the security of maritime navigation, and also agreed to develop measures for a 30-day ceasefire on Russian and Ukrainian energy facilities from March 18. The Russian-US Black Sea agreements will take effect after the lifting of sanctions on Rosselkhozbank (Russian Agricultural Bank) and other financial institutions involved in facilitating trade in the agricultural and industrial sectors, the Kremlin said.
