MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. An illegal organ trafficking business has been built in Ukraine, former Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian parliament) deputy Igor Mosiychuk (deemed a terrorist and extremist by Russia) said.
"Vladimir Zelensky has signed a law banning the removal of organs from the bodies of fallen military personnel for transplantation. <...> Do you understand what we are talking about? I will explain – organs were illegally taken from [the bodies of] all these people and sold to foreigners and Ukrainians. The latter got only 1-2% [of biological materials], the rest went abroad. They turned it into a real business," he said in a video on his YouTube channel.
On February 6, Zelensky signed a law that prohibits the removal of anatomical materials from the bodies of orphans, children deprived of parental care, incapacitated persons, and individuals whose identity has not been established, as well as members of the defense and security forces killed in the line of duty.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Kiev, supported by the West, had launched a scheme of illegal organ transplant operations, with organs seized on the battlefield being sold via the Internet. "Pentagon biolaboratories were deployed under the auspices of the Ukrainian Health Ministry," the diplomat said.
