Russia, Kazakhstan to sign slew of agreements during Putin’s visit to Astana — Tokayev

President of Kazakhstan also noted that Astana and Moscow "were able to not only preserve, but to enhance their dynamic bilateral partnership"

ASTANA, November 27. /TASS/. Kazakhstan and Russia plan to sign 20 agreements during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

"On the eve of the visit, members of our governments worked diligently, addressing all the issues on the agenda. Today, we will adopt very important documents: 20 agreements that would, of course, provide a significant impetus to further developing our good-neighborliness and cooperation," Tokayev said during the meeting with Putin, according to his press office.

He also noted that Astana and Moscow "were able to not only preserve, but to enhance their dynamic bilateral partnership." The press office noted that, during their meeting, Putin and Tokayev discussed the prospects for cooperation in manufacturing, energy, oil, energy transit, machine building, transportation and logistics, finance, ecology and water policy, education, science, and cultural and humanitarian ties.

Putin arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit on November 27. On November 28, the Russian president will take part in the CSTO summit in Astana.
