In 2023, Russia contributed over $60 mln to WFP funds in total, primarily for food needs of African, Asian, and Latin American countries

ROME, April 10. /TASS/. Russia will not be a member of the Executive Board of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in 2025-2027, the Russian Permanent Representation to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other international organizations in Rome told TASS.

Our country will nevertheless remain the WFP member and will continue supporting operations of the organization for provision of urgent food aid to those needing it all over the world. We believe this is particularly important in conditions of the multi-sectoral crisis and alerting forecasts of Rome-based international organization as regards the increase in the number of people starving globally," the Permanent Representation said.
