TEL AVIV, November 24. /TASS/. The first group of hostages, who were released after 49 days of being held captive by radicals in the Gaza Strip, have undergone medical assessment and their lives are not in danger, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said.

"Today they returned home. Eleven foreign nationals also returned with them. Doctors assessed their condition at the Kerem Shalom crossing. Their lives are not in danger," he said.

The group is currently being taken to the Israeli Hatzerim Airbase, where the freed people will contact their loved ones and undergo additional medical examinations, Hagari said.

"From there, they will be airlifted by helicopters to hospitals where they will meet with their relatives. Also, the foreign nationals will meet with representatives of their countries at the Hatzerim Airbase and they will also be taken to hospitals," the spokesman went on to say.
