DUBAI, November 24. /TASS/. The Israeli army has stormed an Indonesian hospital in the Beit Lahia settlement in the northern Gaza Strip, the Al Jazeera TV channel reported, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.
According to the channel, "the army of the occupation forces [Israel] stormed the Indonesian hospital." It is reported that at least one person was killed and three others were wounded in the attack. The channel added that the Israeli military arrested three Palestinians.
Al Jazeera reported on November 21 that the hospital, where more than 2,500 people remain, is completely surrounded by the Israeli military. The Israeli side claims that many hospitals, including the Indonesian one, are field headquarters of radical groups and that underground shelters set up in the basements of hospitals may be home to terrorist leaders.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank.
