Iranian defense chief sees Israel’s actions in Gaza as 'political suicide'

Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani stated that the ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip is paving the way for a humanitarian disaster

DUBAI, October 23. /TASS/. What Israel is doing in the Gaza Strip is "political suicide," Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani said in a phone call with his Syrian counterpart, Ali Mahmoud Abbas.

"Violations of all rules of warfare and human rights by the Zionists (Israelis - TASS) are swaying global public opinion against this brutal regime. That said, all these actions are leading to its political suicide," Ashtiani said, as quoted by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.

"The ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip and restrictions on assistance to the enclave are paving the way for a humanitarian disaster," the Iranian defense chief added.
