Protesters gathered near Hotel Lutetia on Boulevard Raspail in the center of the city

PARIS, March 7. /TASS/. Protesters against the pension reform have started their march in downtown Paris on Tuesday, according to a TASS reporter at the scene.

Protesters gathered near Hotel Lutetia on Boulevard Raspail in the center of the city. They are making their way down Boulevard Raspail with the aim of then taking the Boulevard du Montparnasse and ultimately reaching the Place d'Italie in the south of the city.

The protesters are carrying banners with demands to reverse the raising of the retirement age, as well as signs and balloons with the marks of their unions.

Reinforced police units have been posted along the route of the march to provide security.
