BEIRUT, February 19. /TASS/. Syrian air defense forces are repelling Israeli air force missile attacks on the outskirts of Damascus, a source in the Syrian military command told the Al Ekhbariya TV channel on Sunday.
"The Israeli Air Force has carried out a new aggressive action: an attack on the military positions south of the capital," the source noted, "The Syrian anti-aircraft gunners are firing on air targets and have managed to shoot down several missiles."
On January 2, the Israeli Air Force attacked pro-Iranian militia weapons depots near Damascus airport. At least four fighters from the Shiite armed militia Hezbollah, fighting on the side of the Syrian army, were killed.
