Senior Belarusian, Chinese officials discuss cooperation in international security

Xie Xiaoyong and Alexander Volfovich reviewed topical issues of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation and an agenda for cooperation in the field of international security

MINSK, February 14. /TASS/. The State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich and China’s Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong on Tuesday discussed cooperation in the field of international security and the initiative for holding an international meeting as part of the CSTO-China Strategic Dialogue, the BelTA news agency said on Tuesday.

The two men reviewed topical issues of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation and an agenda for cooperation in the field of international security. It was noted that in the context of Belarus’ CSTO chairmanship in 2023 great interest was expressed at the meeting in developing relations between the organization and China. The Belarusian side outlined a proposal for implementing an initiative to hold an international meeting in Minsk as part of the CSTO-China Strategic Dialogue.

Also, during the meeting, the commitment was confirmed to the course of strategic partnership between the two countries and to strengthening relations and developing joint projects in the field of defense and law enforcement.
