President Sandu calls for legal charges against those 'complicit in destabilizing' Moldova

According to Maia Sandu, those implicated in actions aimed at seizing power in Moldova by force "are reliant on a number of homegrown forces, and criminal groups in particular"

CHISINAU, February 13. /TASS/. Moldovan President Maia Sandu has called on national security and law enforcement agencies to press charges against all individuals who she claims are complicit in plans to destabilize the country, primarily members of opposition parties.

"All those who are involved in such activities directed against the Moldovan state - be they foreign elements, members of political parties, or criminal groups, as well as all those who support and provide cover for them - must be brought to justice," she told a briefing on Monday, when commenting on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s speech at the European Union, in which he claimed that Ukrainian intelligence had intercepted an alleged "plan by the Russian Federation to undermine democratic institutions" in Moldova.

According to Sandu, those implicated in actions aimed at seizing power in Moldova by force "are reliant on a number of homegrown forces, and criminal groups in particular, such as the Sor grouping (the opposition Sor Party - TASS) and its affiliates, as well as on a number of veterans and former law enforcement officers, and on certain individuals known for their ties to Plahotniuc (fugitive oligarch and former Democratic Party leader Vladimir Plahotniuc - TASS)."
