German politician calls for diplomacy, opposes weapons supplies to Ukraine

According to Co-Chairman of the Alternative for Germany Party Tino Chrupalla, Germany is not a party to the Ukrainian conflict

SEELOW /Germany/, February 2. /TASS/. Germany is not a party to the Ukrainian conflict and should stop sending weapons to Ukraine, Co-Chairman of the Alternative for Germany Party Tino Chrupalla told reporters on Thursday.

"We have been criticizing this since the very beginning," he noted, commenting on weapons supplies to Kiev. "The spiral needs to be broken," Chrupalla added.

"This is not our war, we are not a party to it," said the politician, taking part in a flower-laying ceremony at a Soviet war memorial at the Seelow Heights in eastern Germany.

"Finding a solution requires diplomacy and talks," Chrupalla pointed out.

Last week, Germany approved sending 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and decided to give permission to other countries to re-export such tanks.
