Czech president calls for strong response in case of use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine

According to Milos Zeman, the risk of a nuclear conflict is high

PRAGUE, October 5. /TASS/. Russia is threatening to use tactical nuclear weapons in the conflict in Ukraine, Czech President Milos Zeman said at a briefing in Prague on Wednesday following talks with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

"The risk of a nuclear conflict is high due to [Russian] threats to use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine," Zeman pointed out. "I believe that in this situation, European and not only European countries would have to give a strong military response," he added.

According to the Czech president, the international community should send a clear message to the Russian leadership that "if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, there will not only be a diplomatic reaction but also a military one, with all the ensuing consequences."
