Donetsk Republic’s recognition by other countries is just an interim stage, says DPR

Speaking about the timeframe for DPR and LPR to join Russia, the chairman of the DPR Public Chamber Alexander Kofman said that Donetsk was now daily shelled

DONETSK, June 26. /TASS/. The recognition of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) by other countries is just an interim stage while it is more important for the Donbass republics to get integrated into Russia, Chairman of the DPR Public Chamber Alexander Kofman told TASS on Sunday.

"I see the sense in the recognition [of the DPR] but I consider it as an interim stage because the Donbass integration into Russia is a vital issue. Naturally, we are waiting impatiently exactly for this fact," he said.

"We have never had any ambitions of independence. We want to return home," Kofman stressed.

Speaking about the timeframe for the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) to join Russia, the chairman of the DPR Public Chamber said that Donetsk was now daily shelled. Therefore, after this threat was removed and control of the republic’s entire territory was established, this issue would be raised again, he said.
