Wherever US-led West rules in Syria, chaos dominates, says Russian top brass

"In all the Syrian regions controlled by the Western coalition, the United States intentionally perpetuates a state of permanent chaos where crime flourishes and thugs, armed to their teeth, rob and kill civilians," Mikhail Mizintsev pointed out

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. Chaos and crime flourish in Syrian regions controlled by the US-led Western coalition, said Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Management Center, at a joint meeting of Syria’s and Russia’s interagency coordinating headquarters on Thursday.

"In all the Syrian regions controlled by the Western coalition, the United States intentionally perpetuates a state of permanent chaos where crime flourishes and thugs, armed to their teeth, rob and kill civilians," the high-ranking military official noted.

As an example, he pointed to the Al-Hol refugee camp where a catastrophic humanitarian situation is unfolding. "Crime and disease are rampant there, and a critical need for food and basic medical aid here exists," the colonel general emphasized.

"Just since the beginning of this year, local criminal elements killed 30 completely innocent people," he said, stressing that a similar atmosphere is maintained in the Rukban refugee camp controlled by the US where the majority of residents are former militants from illegal armed formations along with their family members.

According to the military official, the Americans use the camp as a recruiting base for armed gangs in order to maintain terror threats on Syrian soil. That said, the Russian Defense Ministry thinks that colossal funds allegedly earmarked for aiding Syrian residents are actually directed to radicals and US-run NGOs who are not interested in rebuilding the country.

"Under the guise of caring about civilians, the West is profiting from their troubles while lying to its own population and the entire global community," the general concluded.
