As a result of shelling, some residential buildings were damaged on Cosmonaut Street

DONETSK, June 11. /TASS/. A civilian resident of Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district was wounded when the Ukrainian Armed Forces were shelling the city, the Territorial Defense Headquarters of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Saturday.

"Ukraine’s armed formations attacked Donetsk’s Kuibyshevsky district, injuring a civilian. As a result of shelling, some residential buildings were damaged on Cosmonaut Street," the HQ wrote on its Telegram channel.

Ukrainian forces have been shelling Donetsk using rocket and barrel artillery throughout Saturday. They had previously fired 15 rockets from the Grad multiple rocket launcher into the Kuibyshevsky district.

In recent days, the Ukrainian forces have been heavily bombarding Donetsk. The most intense escalation since 2014 was recorded on May 30. Then, the Ukrainian armed forces used 155mm artillery and US M777 howitzers, and also fired four rockets from the Smerch multiple launch rocket system into residential areas, which resulted in civilian casualties.
