Meeting of Russia, Ukraine, UN, Turkey must resolve food crisis — Chinese envoy to UN

Dai Bing also noted that the international community must work together to encourage Russia and Ukraine towards the negotiations track

UNITED NATIONS, June 6. /TASS/. China hopes that the potential meeting between Russia, Ukraine, the UN and Turkey on export of grain and fertilizers will make it possible to resolve the food crisis, Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dai Bing said, speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on the Ukrainian crisis Monday.

"We hope that the meeting between Russia, Ukraine, the UN and Tukey will contribute to progress in building of mutual trust and resolution of the food crisis," the diplomat said.

According to the envoy, the international community "must work together to encourage peace talks and encourage Russia and Ukraine towards the negotiations track."

"Otherwise, the conflict will only continue. <…> No country can and should seek its absolute security at the expense of security of others," Dai Bing said. "International and regional security cannot and must not be ensured by reinforcement of military blocs and cutting of industry and shipment systems".
