BRICS foreign ministers express concern about humanitarian situation in Ukraine

They also expressed support for the talks between the Russia and Ukraine, the statement reads

BEIJING, May 19. /TASS/. The foreign ministers of BRICS countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, according to a joint statement that was adopted on Thursday following their meeting by video link.

"The foreign ministers expressed concern about the humanitarian situation inside and outside Ukraine," said the statement that was published on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website.

It said the foreign ministers support for the efforts of the UN Secretary General, UN agencies and the International Committee of the Red Cross for the provision of humanitarian assistance in accordance with General Assembly resolution 46/182.

The document also said that the BRICS foreign ministers expressed support for the talks between the Russia and Ukraine.
