G7 top diplomats note changed borders in Ukraine will not be acknowledged, says Baerbock

Russia wants to carry it into effect by force, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said

WANGELS /Germany/, May 14. /TASS/. G7 foreign ministers will never acknowledge changes in Ukrainian borders, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told a press conference on Saturday following a three-day meeting of in the Wangels municipality in the north of Germany.

"We will never acknowledge changes in borders that Russia wants to carry into effect by force," she said.

This was also noted in a joint statement by G7 top diplomats passed following the meeting in Wangels. "We will never recognize borders Russia has attempted to change by military aggression," the statement said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation, after which the US, the EU, the UK, as well as some other states, imposed sanctions against Russian persons and legal entities, as well as sped up arms supplies to Kiev.
