Ukrainian crisis to change Europe’s security architecture, Cavusoglu says

ANKARA, May 9. /TASS/. The Ukrainian crisis is a signal of a changing European security architecture, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated on Monday.

"The events taking place in the center of Europe in the 21st century are returning us to the mid-1940s, this is a warning for us. This war, which will drastically change the European security architecture after the Cold War, is a turning point for Europe," the top Turkish diplomat said in a statement on occasion of Europe Day marked on May 9.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation based on a request from the heads of the Donbass republics. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans to occupy Ukrainian territories and the goal was to demilitarize and denazify the country.
