French presidential candidate Le Pen continues to view Crimea as part of Russia

Marine Le Pen does not regret the decision on Crimea’s status because it was made through a referendum

PARIS, April 13. /TASS/. French National Rally presidential candidate Marine Le Pen continues to view Crimea as part of Russia and does not regret being barred from entering Ukraine, as she herself said in an interview with BFM TV on Wednesday.

"I don’t regret it because the decision on Crimea’s status was made through a referendum," Le Pen said, when asked to comment on Kiev’s move to put her on its list of unwelcome persons. "I have no plans to visit Kiev at the moment but if I am elected president, they will probably lift the ban," she added.

France held the first round of its presidential election on April 10. Incumbent President Emmanuel Macron came first with 27.84% of the vote, followed by Le Pen with 23.15%. They will meet in the election runoff scheduled to be held on April 24.
