BRUSSELS, March 24. /TASS/. Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said on Thursday that he intended to summon the Bulgarian ambassador from Moscow for consultations.
"What we will do is summon our ambassador from Russia for consultations to Bulgaria, all diplomats know what that means," the prime minister said at a briefing in Brussels on Thursday.
The prime minister added that in a situation where one state summons its ambassador for consultations, the other side should take a similar step.
On Wednesday, Bulgarian Prime Minister publicly criticized Russian Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova, expressing dissatisfaction with her statements about the situation in the country. The Russian Embassy responded on its Facebook page (the social network is banned in Russia; it belongs to Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia) by saying that "public criticism of the Russian ambassador in this situation is unacceptable.".
