MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The Russian Cultural Seasons 2017 festival will take place in 11 countries around the world, including China, France and Russia, said head of the festival Elmira Shcherbakova at a TASS press conference on Tuesday.
"Our geography has gotten larger, we’re joined by China, Vietnam, India and now the festival covers 11 countries, including Russia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and France," Shcherbakova said.
"We’re selecting the best and bring to the world the best that is Russian culture," she said.

"Our first event will take place in Antwerp, Belgium and Igor Moiseev’s Ballet performance will open with a concert. The program is titled Dances of the People from Around the World, which is a unique cycle of choreographic works choreogrpahed by Igor Moiseyev, well known and loved throughout the world," Shcherbakova said.
In turn, Belgium’s Ambassador to Russia, Jean-Arthur Regibeau, mentioned that in 2017, that both countries are celebrating the 300th anniversary of Peter the Great’s visit to Belgium.
"We are very pleased that the 300th anniversary since the visit is a good excuse to host such an event in Belgium," the diplomat said. "The Belgian government is ready to support the bilateral cultural exchange, which will allow the peoples of the two countries to get to know each other better," he said.
The Russian Cultural Seasons is a traditional Russian cultural festival, which consists of art exhibitions, concerts, performances, lectures, literary readings and chess tournaments. The festival was held for the first time in Switzerland in 2012.
