MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has prevented terrorist attacks against Russian servicemen in the Belgorod Region, and a Russian supporter of Ukrainian Nazis has been detained for planning such acts of terrorism, the FSB Public Relations Center (PRC) told TASS.
"The FSB together with the Russian Interior Ministry in the Belgorod Region interdicted the illegal activities of a Russian citizen, a supporter of Ukrainian nationalist ideology, who on the instructions of representatives of the Russian Volunteer Corps, a terrorist organization, was planning acts of sabotage and terrorism against the Russian military," the FSB noted. The man possessed an explosive device which he planned to remotely detonate in an area where Russian Armed Forces personnel are deployed in the Belgorod Region.
The Investigative Department of the Belgorod Region branch of the FSB opened a criminal case against the detainee under four articles of the Russian Criminal Code: Article 30 (Part 1), Article 205 (Part 2) ("Preparing a terrorist act"); Article 30 (Part 3), Article 205.5 (Part 2) ("Organization of and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization"); Article 30 (Part 1), Article 281 (Part 3) ("Preparing a terrorist act"); Article 281 (Part 3) ("Preparing an act of sabotage"); and Article 222.1 (Part 1) ("Illegal possession of explosive devices").
