Visa of US reporter arrested in Russia wasn’t expired — Russian MFA

"The whole story is unrelated to his work as a reporter. There were no complaints about his work as a reporter," Yevgeny Ivanov said

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The visa and the paperwork that was required for Wall Street Journal reporter and US national Evan Gershkovich, who was arrested in Moscow, to work as a reporter weren’t expired, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov said on Thursday.

He said the paperwork that was required for Gershkovich to work as a reporter "was fine."

"The whole story is unrelated to his work as a reporter. There were no complaints about his work as a reporter," he said to a question from TASS.
