MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Two planes with humanitarian assistance arrived in earthquake-ravaged Syria during the past day, one of them landed at the Russian Hmeymim airbase, Oleg Gurinov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Tuesday.
"Humanitarian assistance from other countries continues to arrive as part of international cooperation. Thus, during the past day, two planes with humanitarian assistance arrived in Syria. One them landed at the Hmeymim airbase," he said.
According to Gurinov, the Russian military continues to deliver relief aid to people in Syria’s quake-ravaged regions. "Two humanitarian operations were conducted in the city of Aleppo," he said. "A total of 142 humanitarian operations have been held since February 7."
He also said that a field hospital of the Belarusian armed forces completed its mission in Aleppo. As many as 3,146 people have received medical assistance since February 17.
