Emergencies Ministry reveals number of humanitarian convoys sent to Donbass and Ukraine

According to Oleg Manuylo, about 55 Emergencies Ministry’s trucks with water are sent to Donetsk and Makeyevka every day

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry has sent almost 2,000 trucks with humanitarian aid to Donbass and Ukraine, Oleg Manuylo, Director of Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Civil Defence and Population Protection Department, said on Monday.

"In addition to trucks - and we have already sent almost 2,000 convoys (with humanitarian aid for the residents of Ukraine and Donbass - TASS comment) - we also sent water to Donetsk, including by train," he said.

Cargo was delivered to 159 settlements. From there it was distributed in different parts of Donbass and Ukraine. The cargo included building materials, food, toys for children, textbooks, furniture, medicines and much more. To simplify the delivery of aid, the Emergencies Ministry deployed 14 warehouses in several regions.

"One of the problems that exists at the moment is the lack of a sufficient amount of water for the residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Besides, we <…> use equipment that extracts water, re-purifies it," he added.

According to Manuylo, about 55 Emergencies Ministry’s trucks with water are sent to Donetsk and Makeyevka every day. They deliver over 520 tons of water.

Earlier, Anatoly Suprunovsky, deputy head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, reported that during the humanitarian mission, Russian Emergencies Ministry convoys delivered over 152,000 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of the Donetsk and the Lugansk People's Republics, the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, as well as some Ukrainian regions.
