Over 19,000 people evacuated to Russia from Ukraine, DPR, LPR in past day

According to Head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, since the start of the special military operation, a total of 1,021,871 people crossed the Russian border

MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/. A total of 19,442 people were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas in Ukraine, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the past day, Head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said on Thursday.

"Despite the obstacles that are being created by Kiev, 19,442 people, including 4,468 children, were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas in Ukraine, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the past day without any assistance from the Ukrainian authorities," he said.

Since the start of the special military operation, a total of 1,021,871 people crossed the Russian border, including 187,636 children, he said. A total of 133,581 vehicles crossed the Russian border, including 2,708 in the past day.
