Arc de Triomphe wrapped in fabric unveiled in Paris

PARIS, September 17. /TASS/. The 50-meter Arc de Triomphe completely wrapped in silver and blue fabric was unveiled in Paris on Thursday.

President Emmanuel Macron who described the project as "a crazy dream come true," attended the ceremony. He was accompanied by his wife Brigitte, Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

The 14 million-euro ($16.4 million) project was conceived in 1961 by the late Bulgarian-born artist Christo Christo (Christo Javacheff) and his wife Jeanne-Claude Denat de Guillebon.

The installation built around one of the most iconic Parisian landmarks was made of recyclable plastic wrapping. It will be on display from September 18 to Oct0ber 3.
