ISS, April 11. /TASS/. The first spacewalk by Russian cosmonauts working aboard the International Space Station (ISS) has been rescheduled for April 18 from April 20 due to a change in the date of the launch of a US Crew Dragon spaceship, Roscosmos cosmonaut and TASS special reporter Oleg Artemyev said on Monday.

Under the preliminary plan, the Russian crew that arrived at the orbital outpost on March 18 will conduct their first extravehicular activity on April 18, carry out their second spacewalk on April 28 and the third on May 19. The first spacewalk has been rescheduled from April 20 for April 18 due to a change in the date of the launch of the US Axiom Mission 1 and the date of the launch of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft with four astronauts.

Preliminarily, cosmonauts Artemyev and Denis Matveyev will conduct their spacewalk while cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov will act as the spacewalk’s operator.

On November 17, 2021, Russia’s world-renowned TASS news agency and the State Space Corporation Roscosmos signed a memorandum of cooperation, under which a TASS news office was established aboard the ISS. Now cosmonaut Artemyev is heading it. Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin was the TASS first special reporter in space. His flight lasted 12 days.
