"The strategic alliance between Moscow and Beijing being formed before our eyes is a joint Russian-Chinese response to the policy of sanctions, pressure and threats," Pushkov stressed speaking at a plenary meeting of the State Duma.
"In response to pressure, Russia was not frightened, shrunken or pushed into the far geopolitical corner, but only started using more broadly its considerable opportunities and found here an active support of a whole range of states, and especially of such a great power as China," Pushkov said.
Pushkov earlier said that the alliance between Moscow and Beijing stemming from the United States attempts to isolate Russia was the biggest failure of Barack Obama as the United States president.
