Terrorists plan UAV attacks on Syrian government forces — Russian military

According to Russian peacekeepers, terrorists may stage the attack within the next two days, aiming to impair the mobility of pro-government forces and keep tensions high along the line of contact

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Militants of Syria’s Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) plan to launch drone attacks on positions held by Syrian government forces, the deputy head of the Russian reconciliation center said on Thursday.

"According to information obtained by the Russian reconciliation center, militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone, plan to attack positions held by Syrian government forces using unmanned aerial vehicles," said Oleg Yegorov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry).

According to Russian peacekeepers, terrorists may stage the attack within the next two days, aiming to impair the mobility of pro-government forces and keep tensions high along the line of contact.

"The militants, based near the settlements of Kbana, Fatira, el-Bara, Deir Sunbol and Sarmada, have completed preparations for using strike drones with a range of up to 15 kilometers," he said.

Also, the Russian Defense Ministry official said four shelling attacks were registered in the Idlib de-escalation zone in the past day. All of them occurred in the Idlib governorate. In one of those attacks, carried out by terrorists from the Afes district, one Syrian servicemen was killed.
