MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Russian paratroopers repelled all the Ukrainian army’s attempts to land on the left bank of the Dnieper River near Kherson, military expert Vitaly Kiselyov said on Monday.
"The enemy’s attempts to cross into the left bank of the Dnieper River on floating craft come as extremely difficult. All this craft is destroyed. Absolutely every meter of land there is under our paratroopers’ control," the military expert said during a live broadcast on the Soloviev Live TV channel.
Fierce battles are raging in the Zaporozhye frontline area. The Ukrainian army is making daily attempts to counterattack near the settlements of Maliye Shcherbaki and Bolshiye Shcherbaki. The Ukrainian military is aware that its forces are running out and is trying to stabilize the front ahead of a potential ceasefire, the military expert said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported in April that its Battlegroup Dnepr units had liberated the settlements of Maliye Shcherbaki, Lobkovoye and Stepovoye in the Zaporozhye Region.
