Russia gained proficiency in information wars over three years of special op — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov drew a parallel between the actions of Russian fighters advancing in the special military operation zone and media representatives

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Over the three years of the special military operation, Russia has learned how to wage information wars, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at the Modern Media conference at the Higher School of Economics.

"Over the past three years of living under these new conditions, we have learned a lot and become more proficient in information warfare. This is a great result, a significant achievement," Peskov said.

According to him, a whole generation of "the most talented journalists and skilled media professionals" has emerged, who are perfectly managing all the challenges.

Peskov drew a parallel between the actions of Russian fighters advancing in the special military operation zone and media representatives. "Journalists must also advance, as must all those involved in managing information and participating in the information war that has been imposed on us," he noted. "We will win it too, as it cannot be otherwise," he assured.

Peskov noted that the information field is currently influenced by two factors: the conditions of war, in which people have to live and work, and the overall transformation affecting journalism, information flows, and the system of perception and production of information worldwide.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, these two processes go hand in hand and influence the transformation of the media. "But this transformation is not the primary task we face. Journalists must become like Simonov under these conditions," the spokesman said, referring to the skills of Soviet writer and war correspondent Konstantin Simonov.
