Trump-Zelensky clash shows how right Putin is regarding Ukraine — Kremlin

According to Dmitry Peskov, Putin is aware of the details about what happened and took them into account

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump’s clash with Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky on Friday showed once again how right Russian President Vladimir Putin has been regarding peace talks, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"The Russian side could once again see how right President Putin was when he said that no matter how open Russia is to negotiating [peace], these good intentions come down to the reluctance of the Kiev regime to support any progress toward that. The exchange in Washington showed it bluntly," Peskov said.

According to him, Putin is aware of the details about what happened and took them into account.

On February 28, Zelensky arrived at the White House for a meeting with Trump. During the conversation in the presence of journalists, an argument broke out between the two leaders, during which Trump pointed to Zelensky’s disrespectful attitude toward the United States, while US Vice President JD Vance highlighted Zelensky’s ungratefulness to Washington for the support it has provided to Kiev. The press conference following their meeting was canceled, and the signing of a US-Ukraine resource deal did not take place. Trump later posted a statement on his Truth Social media emphasizing that Zelensky was disrespectful and unprepared for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

During his visit to the United States, Zelensky was supposed to sign a minerals deal following talks with Trump. Reuters reported, citing a White House official, that the decision to cancel the ceremony was made by the US leader himself.
